The 2024 legislative session has implemented changes that have impacted our industry, and we foresee potential changes in 2025 and beyond. Therefore, CAM has partnered with a new lobbying firm, Faegre-Drinker. We believe this partnership will enable CAM to have a stronger voice at the Minnesota State Capitol. Additionally, we are moving from having one lobbyist, to a four-person lobbyist team. This team will work vigilantly to protect and strengthen our mission.
With this expansion, CAM has increased cost associated with this new direction and we depend on your support to help us cover the added expense. Please help us to achieve our mutually beneficial goals and support CAM by joining us for the evening of January 30th. Even if you are unable to attend, donations and event sponsorship are appreciated! Here is a sneak peek at what is happening at the Gala this year:

The Contractor’s Association of Minnesota (CAM)
The Contractors Association of Minnesota (CAM) was formed in 2009 by a group of concerned construction trade partners responding to proposed legislation by the insurance industry that was harmful to contractors working on storm-related events. CAM is a continually evolving group of professional contractors, distributors, and manufacturers who want to encourage positive change for the future of our industry.
Join CAM
A strong membership in the industry is important to the CAM’s success. Being a member of CAM means you are taking the next step to better your business and your professional self! As a member, you will have the opportunity to share technical data and marketing information within the top residential and commercial exterior professionals in your area.
Testimonials
“I joined CAM to have a voice at the Legislature. For so long it seemed that contractors were at the mercy of insurance companies. They had money and power and clout to have laws written in their favor, and it seemed that the ones getting hurt were the homeowners. Your average homeowner doesn’t deal with claims often, and doesn’t realize the slow erosion of coverage and rights that we see every day. Our voice holds the insurance industry accountable. I also joined CAM to promote professionalism. There are a lot of really good contractors out there who do their best for homeowners, and sharing tactics and best business practices only improves the industry as a whole.”
“We were thrilled to join CAM because we believe in what they do for us!! Knowing that our support is in good hands with CAM allows us to focus on what we do best – Exterior Construction. From the beginning, CAM went to work on the behalf of contractors to ensure that we got paid in a timely manner from mortgage companies, and have continued to endure battles at the Capitol with legislation and insurance companies to protect our rights. These measures are so crucial to our business, and all too scary to think what we would have to deal with on a daily basis without this group looking out for us! We will definitely continue our support of CAM for years to come…”
“I have appreciated the professional cooperative working relationship with the leaders and members of CAM over the years.”
“I have been involved in CAM since its inception. As an attorney who works primarily with construction contractors, and frequently with exterior renovation contractors, I value CAM as an organization that promotes best practices for contractors and continues to protect the consumer at the legislative level from the continuing attempts by property casualty insurers to restrict the ability of insureds to have their own construction advocate and receive full payment for restoration of a covered loss.”
“It is truly an honor to have our company affiliated with the CAM. In and industry laden with unwarranted stereotypes and constantly scrutinized, ever changing codes and regulation. It is of utmost importance to align with advocates for truth and transparency. All too often in our 20 years in this business we as owners have embraced the “go it alone” mentality while navigating the policy and law constantly changed by the state and the insurance companies. It’s hard enough to trudge through running a legitimate business itself let alone averting the mine fields that are constantly laid before us in this industry. I am grateful for our relationship with the CAM and look forward to many fruitful years of future affiliation. Thank you for your countless hours of due diligence that have enabled our company to adhere to and stay abreast of an ever changing industry that we have chosen as our life’s work.”
“I have had the pleasure of working alongside CAM and several of its members for years as an attorney who primarily represents general contractors and homeowners in disputes with their insurance companies. CAM is an invaluable resource to general contractors. It provides them a voice before the legislature, a place to dialogue about business and industry trends, and it serves as a liaison between contractors and regulatory agencies like the Minnesota Departments of Labor and Commerce. CAM’s dedication to establishing industry wide best practices and promoting the interests of its members makes it a “must join” for any general contracting business.”
